Are Auction Sites a Good Career Choice?

Posted & filed under Uncategorized.

People wanting to work from home try a lot of different methods to make the money flow in. From falling victim to envelope-licking scams to thinking they can strike it big in a penny-per-click email-checking scheme, some try dozens of programs before finding anything legitimate.

One work-from-home program you may see advertised a lot is the good ol’ auction site. Sites like eBay are notorious for having made millionaires out of average Joes. Can you be the next one to follow in their footsteps?

Auction sites like eBay are becoming as popular as classified sites like americanlisted.com. Does that mean there’s room for you to make money?

Unfortunately, the simple answer here is no. Now, maybe you could create a nice profile, build up some traffic and reputation, and handle mountains of merchandise as a middleman, but the work is grueling and you will be in competition with literally thousands of other entrepreneurs not only trying the same thing but most likely trying it in your selected niche.

Whether you’re thinking about putting up electronics, cars, or even furniture for sale on an auction site, just do a quick ‘net search and you’ll see that someone has beaten you to the punch.

For making quick money online, going the online auction route is likely to be a dead end. You have to find merchandise for cheap and then convince someone to purchase it from you at a markup. Essentially, you’ll be opening your own business. This is a commitment most people do not want to make.

There are many ways to make money online; online auctions, while great a decade ago, are just too crowded now to compete in.
