om-home entrepreneurs are always browsing the Internet looking for ways to make easy money online. They do exist, certainly; they’re just harder to come by these days due to the sheer amount of people trying to work from their computers in this economy.
One way some people are trying to make a quick buck is by writing online reviews for specific review sites. These reviews can be about movies, the newest electronic products, and even more off-the-wall topics like government legislation or even jewelry for sale in New York.
There are dozens of sites that offer money for your reviews, but unfortunately this type of writing isn’t going to turn you into Donald Trump.
Three big problems rear their ugly head when writing these reviews. Problem one: The sites are never paying enough money. At most, you’ll be lucky to pull in a few bucks per review, and that’s after you research the product thoroughly, draft a grammatically-correct, error-free document, and post it per the site’s specs. When it’s all said and done, you’ve completed about $50 worth of work for $2 tops.
Problem two: Everyone’s in the game! This isn’t just American competition you have to deal with online. Even if you’re writing a review about a home for sale in Alabama, you can probably do a quick Google search and find about 200 Indians who have been writing content on the same topic. You can’t compete with that.
Problem three: You will never move up the ladder. Even if you write a hundred reviews, your one-hundred-first review will be viewed in the same light as your first.
The only real way to make money doing any type of review writing is to link back to your site or to work as an affiliate, and that’s a whole other business entirely.
We’re not out to deter anyone; we just want to make it clear that some work-from-home opportunities aren’t really opportunities at all.
